Custom Shading Doesn't Work When Zoomed In
I recently noticed that when I'm using downloaded data offline, if I zoom in close, my custom DEM shading no longer works - the shading just disappears, showing only the base map below. In the past this has worked just fine, so I'm not sure what is causing the issue.
This is on a new phone, so it's possible that I didn't download the right things - I have MapBuilder and Contours downloaded at max resolution for the areas in question.
Any tips on what to try to get this working again?

Custom DEM layers are not available for offline download. You may have had luck with cacheing data while online, and being able to zoom in offline, but unfortunately they are not able to be downloaded. You can view more information on how this works here: https://training.caltopo.com/all_users/mobile/offline#cached.
As a correction, DEM shading is based on elevation data, which is automatically downloaded when you download other map layers. We did recently update our elevation dataset to incorporate more LIDAR data, and if you have old elevation data downloaded in an area that now has LIDAR, the app get be confused as to the max zoom level available and stop to display beyond a certain point. We also recently discovered and fixed a bug with how the max zoom level for the elevation layer was computed in some locations.
Can you email help@caltopo.com (which goes to Zendesk's standard support forum, which we monitor a little more frequently) with the location you were looking at when you ran into the issue?
