Assignment Markers

I would like the option to use marker points and icons as a assignment under the SAR Objects. Using SAR TOPO a short time now but would like to be able to assign stationary or specific point assignments. Such as under an Incident Command Post icon for a operational period or who is in staging, rehab etc... 

Currently I am achieving this with short lines or small polygons. If there is a cleaner way to achieve this that would be great!
