Would printing in 400dpi improve map quality of B&W laser printer?

Gregory Darmohray

Love CalTopo and paying for the Mobile version.   When I print the 200dpi PDF maps to a Brother laser printer they don't look great.    If I upgrade to Pro subscription, I'll be able to generate 400dpi PDF files.   Do you think this will improve the printed maps significantly?    Or perhaps the problem is I'm using an old Brother HL-L2340D laser print with regular paper.   Any advice on getting better printed maps?

    Hi Gregory,

The difference between 200 and 400 dpi can be significant in the quality of printed maps. While we can't speak to the quality of your printer, take a look at our terms of use here: https://caltopo.com/about/terms-of-use/

If you do upgrade and you are not happy with the Pro Subscription, we can adjust your account back to Mobile and issue you a refund of the difference.

    I hope this helps!
