We do not currently have a way to look up or display Township and Range information within CalTopo. However, you can bring in the grid via a custom source if you have a Desktop or Team subscription.

To add a view of the layer, use custom source:
    Type: WMS

    URL Template: https://gis.blm.gov/arcgis/services/Cadastral/BLM_Natl_PLSS_CadNSDI/MapServer/WmsServer?SERVICE=WMS&VERSION=1.1.1&REQUEST=GetMap&STYLES=&BBOX={left},{bottom},{right},{top}&WIDTH={tilesize}&HEIGHT={tilesize}&BGCOLOR=0xCCCCCC&FORMAT=image/png&EXCEPTIONS=application/vnd.ogc.se_inimage&SRS=EPSG:3857&LAYERS=0,1,2,3
    (Press Go)

Overlay? : Set it as a layer (NOT as a transparent overlay - it doesn't end up being transparent.)

    (Press OK)

Request the addition of Township, range, sections overly addition, for all of us Professional Land Surveyors, Forest Service, and BLM workers.

I, too, would like to see township, range, and section lines added as an available layer, like the Contours layer which provides contours with a transparent background.

If I use the URL listed in a previous posting, a layer is created, but the background is gray and I must adjust opacity to see my preferred layer beneath the section lines. I can use the prefill option but none of the layers I typically use are listed there (Forest Service (2016) Green, Mapbuilder, Scanned Topo, etc).
