Android Auto
Would it be possible for the CalTopo app to work with Android Auto sometime in the near future? We use the app a lot while driving when working on wildland fires. It would be great (and safer) to have the map display on the compatible vehicle's screen.

I’m an iPhone user, but I’ll second this because it’s car integration. (I view CarPlay & Android Auto as the same feature request). I like using CalTopo, and since they have motor vehicle use maps, it would be a great option. It’s also one of the areas where CalTopo is behind Gaia and the multitude of other off-road-specific apps.
What I would also love to see if brought to android auto is the ability to turn on the weather layers during travel. This is a surprising gap on mapping apps (including google maps, Waze, and Gaia). Having the ability to layer current weather layers (wind, precip, etc) during travel in the mountains or long trips would be great.
Been using CalTopo for 10ish years now, starting back in the day when you would just email Matt if you had a tech problem. Having seen the CalTopo service grow tremendously in that time, I am surprised that Android Auto isn't a feature the App version is equipped with! Now that I am running Pro, this feature would be most helpful while traveling, off road or responding to a SAR mission! I really hope to see this feature added soon!
This would be huge for my personal workflow in SAR response. Please consider Android Auto integration.
CalTopo's capabilities are a great resource. Having access to CalTopo on Android Auto would be a huge benefit and I probably wouldn't ever use any other mapping apps while driving it if was integrated into Android Auto. Not many mapping apps work with Android Auto currently (Google Maps, Waze...?) so it would be a huge boost for the company to "make the list". Imagine the increase in subscribers to CalTopo's paid services! Please consider Android Auto integration.
Only reasons I use another app like OnX is due to their superior parcel mapping and, more importantly, Android Auto capability. Would love to see this.

Adding my voice to agree, integration with apply carplay and android auto would be invaluable for using the app to navigate forest roads.
100% agree that android auto (and carplay) support would really help.
An interim solution that allows a user to increase the font size of markers would even help, as trying to read small labels while driving with even a bit of in-vehicle vibration causing the phone to move, makes it impossible to read markers or shared location / trail names legibly.

Piling on, would love to see that, though AA is buggy as hell on my Bronco and would probably freeze every 5th minute
This would be a game changer for vehicle-based SAR operations. Trying to follow a map on your phone while driving can be anything from inconvenient to unsafe.
Having the map up on the big screen would be fantastic. Could even be read-only!
I’m personally an Apple CarPlay user, but would love to see it for both CarPlay and Android Auto.
I would love to see CarPlay integration. It’s the one thing that keeps me using Gaia as my primary mapping software.
Having Android Auto would be a great addition. We use Caltopo pretty frequently and being able to actually see the screen can be a challenge when driving, especially on bumpy forest roads, which can be dangerous. Please implement Android Auto. Even with a limited feature set, being able to see custom maps clearly and safely would be much appreciated.
Use CalTopo for assisting search and rescue. I’m involved in transport, search and recovery. It would be much safer and convenient if Apple Car Play was supported. Currently I have to bounce between CalTopo on my phone and a competing product the works on my truck
It would be great to see Android Auto integration. The ability to extend this app to a larger screen would be great, if only to start with read only, and auto centering.
Likewise with car or motorcycle. Having your maps up would be my first choice. Just the ability to show the same as what's on the phone would be great.
I don't care about having any ui functionality besides possibly scroll or zoom. Even if I didn't have those and it could only follow where I am, as it is on the phone, that would be great.
