Private Map Objects

I would like a way to draw map geometry on a shared map that is visible only to me.  A use case for me would be drawing grid guide lines for my K9 searches without cluttering the map for everyone else.  An implementation might add a property to a map folder that would make it's contents visible only to the creator.  Bonus points for allowing me to invite others to view my private folder without sharing with everyone on the map.
