App hangs when starting on Android 17

Just updated to Android 17 yesterday and now caltopo hangs when starting. Screen turns white with the logo in the middle. Load doesn't complete and I get the kill process or wait dialog.

Once it loaded from a web link, it starts fine now from the launcher. So it was just the initial launcher start after the upgrade to 17 that would hang.
