PDF Mapsheet rendering tips

Does anyone have any tips for designing mapsheets that will render without being pixelated on CalTopo?

I like the feature though wish it wouldn't pixelate my map.

File size is <50MB (closer to 10MB) and is created in ArcGIS Pro.

update: I have found that export a map layout to GeoTIFF format instead of the GeoPDF format results in improved rendering as a CalTopo Mapsheet (for my map at least).
