Control the attributes of text in the app and on printed maps.

My specific use case for this is as follows. 

When creating a backup whiteout navigation plan, I want to be able to add important text cues to the map, and because they will likely be used under duress, it is critical that they JUMP off the page.  

To achieve that we need both control of the font size and weight, as well as the opacity and margin of the background.  It would probably be sufficient for me to have an arbitrary "Text Box" to place on the map.  (Maybe with optional arrow to a point)

The current text on printed maps does a good job of getting out of the way and letting you see the map.  But in this cases the details on the map are less important than the specific text cues in these cases.
