Settings upon opening saved map

When I open a map I've created it has a few base layers, overlays, and weather plots turned on. I don't want them on every time I open the map. Is there a setting I need to adjust or should I export my data and import into a clean file?

Anyone have this issue?

The layers you have on when you save a map are auto saved as the defaults. You can change this:
