Multiple photo upload

Orin Johnson

I've been helping a local polytechnic college with a research project, and one thing that would be really helpful for their project and our operations would be the ability to upload multiple photos in a single action, as opposed to uploading photos one by one.

    Hi Orin

If you are adding photos to a marker, line or other map object you can select multiple photos to add to the object at once.

Not this use case. It's uploading the photo that's geotagged with the drone's info. I can email you the map link if you like.

Understood.  Multi-upload is easy if all the uploaded objects are legit photos, but we get some complicated paths if there are errors, a mix of geotagged vs non geotagged photos, etc.  And it requires us to break from our current pattern where after clicking an entry in the add menu, you get an edit dialog where you can modify attributes before actually saving an object.

All of this is certainly solvable, but when we first rolled out photo waypoints we wanted to collect more information on how it was being used (for example, how many photos are attached vs unattached) before committing to some decisions.  At this point I'll acknowledge that we are way overdue for circling back for a second round addressing some of those items, multi-upload included.

    Thanks for the reply Matt.

I appreciate that many requests can _sound_ simple but can have massive unintended/unexpected consequences
