Marker with Photos not working
We just held a multi-agency exercise including law enforcement 5 days ago on July 12, 2025.
Markers with photos have not yet synced from the iPhone's that were used in the field (5 days later)..
CalTopo support is slowly addressing this but there has to be a real technical network issue that is causing this problem. Support offers up iPhone settings checks and CalTopo settings checks on the iPhone. These settings checks do not fix the problem. There are still photos on the iPhone that when you try to sync, the CalTopo app on the iPhone crashes.

I am having the exact same issue!
Bottom line comment from CalTopo support ..... there is an issue that will be addressed in the next release. No explanation as to what the issue is or when the next release will be coming with a fix.

The 1.21 release that recently rolled out has an update that we hope will address this. If you are still seeing PW sync issues after updating to 1.21, please let us know. Beyond chiming in there, we'd appreciate an email to help@caltopo.com so that we can collect sensitive information like your username and map IDs, in order to further debug.
I know photo waypoint syncing has had issues, and it's been frustrating for us too. We believe it's only problematic for a small percentage of photos, and we've had trouble replicating individually and on our development devices in order to debug the issue. This means longer iteration times, since instead of debugging and verifying a fix locally, we essentially have to ship what we hope will be a solution, and wait to see how many photos still experience issues after that solution goes live. Thanks for your patience with this; we are working on it, it's just harder to solve than our typical app bug.
