Enabling Basic HTML/Linking in Comments
Hello,
What is the status of enabling some basic HTML or URL properties in the comment field? Three years ago it was a Planned feature, just curious if it still is and if there is a time-frame to release that update? Thank you!

Daniel, I can agree that some basic HTML would be awesome, but I just wanted to share a workaround you could try if you wanted a bit of formatting now:
CalTopo does support Unicode characters, so if you use a Unicode generator such as https://yaytext.com/bold-italic/ you can use bold and italic, etc, in your Map Description or Comments field. For me, I prefer the Bold Sans Serif.
Markdown or HTML would be awesome, but I was glad to find a workaround now. You can even used some colored circles or blocks to separate out content blocks: https://unicode-explorer.com/list/geometric-shapes
It's still something we would like to do, and something that I wouldn't consider the software to be "complete" - if there is such a thing - without. There's a tricky balance in figuring out how to communicate about things like that, because we don't want to just not answer or otherwise imply that it isn't something we want to support, but on the other hand things shift quickly enough that any kind of timeframe is going to be wildly misleading unless it's something we're actively working on or about to start.
I know it's probably disappointing to hear "yes it's a good idea and we want to do it, but no we can't tell you when", but unfortunately that's the best we can do at the moment.
Please add the ability to have clickable links in the Comments field for markers!
Even ZenDesk allows this. :)
