Lock map orientation when zooming

Love the app.  Zoom is great, but I'm always inadvertently rotating the map when I try to zoom w/ two fingers -- is there a way to lock the orientation to north=up despite pan/zoom w/ bumbly fingers? 

Thinking some UI element like the blue crosshairs lock.

Nitpicky thing while I'm here: app does not obey Android 'no animations' pref.
