Photo at GPS label change
I've been using the new Photo at GPS feature quite a bit since it was launched. Its really nice having photos easily attached to the tracks that I hike. One minor change that I would absolutely love to have would be for the "Label" input to auto-select the existing text when editing. This would be similar to how "Track Name" works when editing a track that is being recorded. I prefer to have my own labels rather then the auto-generated ones and find it a bit fiddly deleting the existing ones. Android 1.10.15
Thanks!

I've made a note about this and we'll circle back to it in the fall, although that's not a promise to implement it.
When we started working on photo waypoints, we were approaching them as things that would be attached to map objects, where the label is less important. Over time, we wound up deciding to support them as standalone objects as well, and under that model the label is more important for identifying photos. We have a few decisions around photo waypoints generally and unattached, standalone photos specifically that we decided to shelve for a little while until we could gain a better understanding of how the feature was being used in the real-world. We're due to revisit those decisions and I'll toss this into the mix.
I definitely understand about the photos being attached to the map. That's how I started using them as well w/ no label or comments--like I would w/ the built-in camera app. I then realized it was so easy to add context via Comments and attach them to an active track when I wanted so I started doing that. Eventually, I found that I preferred that I liked updating the Label better as I can then quickly see those under Map Objects. With that setup, its really easy to see the tracks I hiked (I typically have multiple tracks on each map) as well as any photos w/ labels for each--makes for a very cool map IMO.
In any case, I completely understand that others will use this differently so that you cannot promise the implementation. I appreciate the consideration and the feedback. Even w/o that change, this is working nicely for me. Thanks!
