Maximum number of markers on import?

Erika Williams

I'm trying to import a bunch of markers from json files to build a template map of fishing and boating access sites in our response area.  The json file I'm importing has around 50 markers, but when I import the file it only brings in 34 of them.  All fifty are shown on the import data screen, but once I click the Import button, only 34 of them get brought in.  I've tried playing around with it a bunch, such as moving the imported markers into a new folder and then trying to import the rest, but this actually DELETES the markers I previously imported.  Has anyone else encountered this, or aware of a workaround?  Interestingly, it doesn't delete any new markers that I manually create within the map.  It only deletes imported objects.  I could just spend the time to create new markers at each of the fifty boating/fishing access sites, but my concern is that if I then try to export everything to a new map, I might end up with missing/deleted data.

Thanks!

    Hi,

There is no hard limit, but if you import a very large file you can freeze/lock the map. What you describe is not that situation, please get in touch with support help@caltopo.com so we can get more info. What would be helpful is a copy of the file you are trying to import and the map id of the map you are trying to import into.
