Sizing map and printing
I am wanting to map relatively small areas, 500 acres or so. The box that shows the size that will be printed to a single page appears to be enlargeable, but not reducible.
Also, when I try to print the menu bars on the left and right don't seem to be removable. The result is that when I print it I get a small sliver of the map in the middle of the page and the rest is blank. What I am doing wrong?
I am doing ground proofing on National Forest land and need detailed top maps with 1:50,000 scale so I can do precise compass and protractor work.

You can set the custom scale to print, or you can manually size the print box area. If you set the scale to 1:50,000 then the box will not be manually size-able.
If you change the scale to "not fixed", then you can adjust the size of the print box on the screen.
