Print View Downgrading Resolution of Map - Please Help?

Hello Everyone,

I tried searching for this, but I can't find any related forum posts, nothing in the FAQ nor does there appear to be anything on Youtube.

I have the Desktop Version / $100 subscription version of Caltopo and I am able to make a wonderful map which is incorporating nice, recent high resolution sattelite imagery of the area I'm trying to capture. However the problem I'm having, is when I go to "print" it and make a copy of the map and / or create a link to the map - the print function instantly downgrades the resolution of the sattelite imagery to the point where it's effectively useless to me.

I think I have tried toggling pretty much every button I can find and mess with - but I can't find a way to get Print view to simply maintain the same resolution I'm seeing in the normal default view.

In print view - is there a way to prevent the resolution from degrading? I have tried creaging an image or a PDF, hoping the bizarely imposed low resolution satellite imagery might still print properly, but nope - the finished product mirors what I can see in print view.

The map I have made, is 200ft / 50m off the ground at 1:12,000 scale on 8.5x11 format in Landscape. It also has no effect on correcting the issue whether I set the DP to 200, 300 or 400.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks!!

    Hi Brian,

What baselayer are you using and in what part of the world? Not all base layers are available (specifically global imagery) for offline use outside of the CONUS due to licensing constraints: https://training.caltopo.com/all_users/base-layers/layers#global.

If this is not applicable, please email us at help@caltopo.com for further details.

Hey I'm having the same problem. When I use the "Global Imagery" layer the quality of the imagery drastically reduces in print mode. I don't even think its the same imagery any more. I'm using the paid service and its in Hawaii so I'm not sure. Did you come across a fix?

    Thanks,

    Spencer
