How view the bearing of a drawn line, or, draw a bearing line

Brian

Hi, I'm a bit of a newbie to CalTopo, so please bear with me. I want to add a line between 2 peaks and know what the bearing is from the starting point peak to the second peak. When I use the line tool to draw the line the real time display reports the bearing as I’m drawing the line (which is awesome). However after the line is saved the line’s details no longer display the bearing information (not so awesome). Is there an easy way I can view that line's bearing info after the line is drawn?

If I draw a "bearing line" instead of a line, between the two peaks, I can always view the bearing by clicking on the saved bearing line. However for my purposes of viewing bearings between peaks, it’s an awkward process creating the bearing line. I have to initially guess what the bearing might be when creating the bearing line (since it doesn't let me draw it), then after it's drawn I need to drag the bearing line to the target peak in order to get the desired bearing. Is there a way to create a bearing line between peaks more efficiently, like there is with drawing a regular line?
