Mobile App - Triple Tap to Zoom Out

Hi,

In the mobile app, a double tap zooms in, but there is no equivalent thumb-only gesture for zooming out. When I am hiking in wet (or sweaty) conditions my phone screen has difficulty recognizing the pinch gestures needed to zoom out, making map navigation frustrating. If it were possible to zoom out using a triple tap this problem would be avoided. 

I recognize this problem may be unique to me and my (admittedly old) Pixel 4a 5g - I would be curious to know if this is an issue for other users, and if not what kind of mobile devices (or device protectors) you're using.

    if you tap-tap/hold and drag your finger up or down, that will zoom it in and out. it's a bit buggy, but I use it in the cases you mentioned or when my.other hand is used.
