Hide route labels ?
I have created many long routes (historic railroads) which forces me to segment them. The resulting labels are annoying on the map when zoomed out. Is there a way to turn off this feature, while still displaying the route ?

You can show/hide labels based on folders, as well as show/hide objects based on folders. These need to be folders you create, as the show/hide settings cannot be adjusted on the default markers and lines/polygons folders. Please see this section of the userguide for further details:

Thanks Rachel, this is encouraging however I do not have the Labels Shown option (below Bulk Ops in folders I have made)
I did however find an option under settings, however this is global, affecting all labels

Update: I found the option but it was under individual folder options, not as shown next to Bulk Ops
