JPG output resolution
Hi, I normally export maps to PDF, but I have a need to use the JPG export. When I use the print dialog, I select 8.5x11 page size and 400 DPI. To me, that implies that the output image should be approximately 3400 by 4400 (400x8.5 by 400x11). However, the image I get is always 1539 by 2040 regardless of the DPI I select. Am I missing something about how CalTopo's export feature interprets the DPI value?

I have similar questions about printing to JPG. It comes out to the equivalent of 8.299 x 11 instead of the 8.5x11, and as you say it ignores the DPI setting. I'm exporting the images for a background that I can overlay on top of, so I need to know the exact size.
Since you haven't had a response in 8 months I'm not too hopeful, but would be nice to know.
Thanks for the confirmation you're having the same issue. Yes, I'm not terribly hopeful about finding resolution (ha!) to this issue anytime soon.
