Marine AIS Live Tracking

Hello - I am wondering if there is functionality to add live tracks marine vessels with AIS (Automatic Identification System, tracking system used on many large vessels). It seems similar to APRS but is not the same technology.

I am wondering if anyone has thought about this and whether this could be a possibility.
