Include Elevation Data When Exporting a GPX File Completed

Breau

Please add elevation data to exported GPX files from Caltopo. As far as I can tell, only lat and long are included.

Thanks!

Just a quick update: we’re happy to share that GPX exports now include elevation data for users with a Pro subscription, making it easier to see and use elevation information on compatible devices.

  • Having digital elevation will help greatly with route planning, regardless of activity. Even if it's an extra fee, the data should be available.

requetsed +1 and I would pay a fee for this data as well.

This is hugely needed. I have been requesting this feature for years, and this is CalTopo's biggest gap in being a full-featured planning tool.

Ditto on the need for this!  I just realized by looking at the GPX and KML exports that it strips out elevation data.  Even if fee based, this would really help provide a one-stop shop for all my mapping needs!

Agreed. Happy to pay for the feature if needed but it wold make using CT exports in other utilities much easier.

Adding another request for this.  It's ridiculous that if I want the elevation in a track in my watch for navigation, I have to export from Caltopo, import to another program, and export again.

+1, I'm wishing for this feature too.  Pretty please? :)  I'm a subscriber to the Pro plan, so I don't mind if this gets added as a paid feature.

I often edit a track in Caltopo, then export it as GPX, and put that GPX on my Suunto watch to navigate by, which results in the elevation profile on the Suunto watch being entirely a flat line, not representative at all of the ups & downs.  For now I have to work-around by using another tool, like www.gpsvisualizer.com/elevation to add the elevation data to the gpx file, but it's quite a cumbersome extra step, and I wish I could do it right from within Caltopo.

It would be super handy to be able to add in elevation data when using the Transform --> Resample tool.
