NASAR CALTopo Management Class

Good Afternoon, during the NASAR course listed above, it covered adding names and teams as resources and the.csv file. It was confusing and I couldn't really grasp the concept. Is there a way to create that .csv file and input teams, names, other resources and upload into an active map? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You are not expected to use the resources feature in order to complete the course exercises. The resources feature is already deprecated, and we are not suggesting that you learn to use it. To complete the course exercises, you simply need to consider what resources you have available and how many searchers you would put in a particular assignment area. For example, if you had 10 searchers and you had 12 potential assignments, you would prioritize a few of those assignments and add 2-4 ground searchers to each. These are not meant to be specific ground searchers (Ie Jon, Paul, Jimmy, etc) but rather "assignment AA gets 3 ground searchers".

    Hope that helps!

The easiest way I've found to do it is to create a single resource, then export the csv file. Then you can add all of your resources in a spreadsheet program (Excel) and import a large list of resources as opposed to manually creating each resource object one at a time.

Thank you. I know I tried that during the course but it wouldn’t upload back into SARTopo. I’ll give it another shot. Thanks again

There was a bug with it for the past couple months, but they fixed it and I confirmed it works this morning.

I am having an issue with submitting my finished map.
The provided link takes me to NASAR where I had to create an account and still was not able to find an option for submitting my finished product.

    Hello Chris,

On the NASAR site you have to click through the lessons and complete the quiz questions for each. Then on the final panel you will get a file where you can add your map link and submit for review.

    Thanks,

    Julie
