Hi
Wondering if someone could help me in addressing this error message?
I am trying to download map layers of a 330 mile hike in Peru (https://caltopo.com/m/TCQV )to the Caltopo phone app (android) and thus far not successful.
Thoughts?
David

    Hi David,

You are getting that error message because we currently don't have offline layers available for download on the mobile app in Peru although we do plan to add that in the near future.

    Best,
    Meghan

    Hi Megan,
That's not good news.. No layers at all, no Open Cycle Map, no TF Forest? (I leave in 4 days to start a 330 mile journey on the inca trail). Do you have a work around?
    Cheers
    David

    Hi Meghan,

    Okay, got it.

Any workaround or will Caltopo phone app be not useful on this trek?

    Cheers

    David

We are working hard on including global offline downloads but until that happens, the mobile app will not be useful to you on your trek. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

    Best,
    Meghan

Just another user chiming in: the caltopo app will (at least, on my Samsung
S9) automatically read in any .mbtiles file if you put it in the correct
    folder on your phone.

On my phone's uSD card I have
    /storage/0000-0000/Android/data/cam.caltopo.android/files/tiles/mineralPeak.mbtiles.
You'd want to read up on getting mbtiles. I used PortableBasemapServer on
Windows - you could probably find info by googling. The fact that the app
just reads em' in is a great feature. I think there are a couple of
caveats, all outside the scope of this help line. I'd avoid spaces or
underscores in the filename and the database table name when you create the
    mbtiles. Good luck!
