I can not figure out how to export a file that will work with my Garmin GPSMAP 66i. I viewed some how to videos that describe how to "Print" to a KMZ file. This option does not appear anywhere on the CalTopo program that I can find. HELP!

    Hi there,
While I'm not familiar with that device specifically printing to KMZ is found on the print page. The print page is access by using the Print button on the main map (printer icon). You can find a guide to the updated UI here: https://training.caltopo.com/all_users/getting-started/changes

    Best,
    Ben

Ben Lantow, you are appreciated. Ok, I got that I select the print button on the left side of the screen, but once I do there is NO option for a KZM file. This is frustrating. I understand the instructions, but see no option to create that kind of file. IS this a requirement of a paid subscription? OR is this something that is no longer an option on CalTopo?? Thank you

There should be an option "Garmin Custom Map". It is a paid feature however.

    Best,
    Ben

Ok Ben. FYI, there is nowhere in the training documentation or on line
videos that I invested a substantial amount of time on that tells us the
feature that allows creating a KZM file is a pay only feature. Had it done
so I would have simply paid and saved all the frustration. I appreciate
your addressing the issue with me.
    Thank you
    best regards

I am sorry that you found it confusing. We can't account for any videos or sites produced by other parties, but our documentation does clearly state right under the section title that a Pro or higher subscription is required. I've highlighted it in the attached screenshot from training.caltopo.com.

    Best,
    Julie

Thank you. Trust me I am not complaining here. I went to the instructions
on "how to" for printing and somehow did not truly grasp the "paid" part of
the equation. There are well intended videos and tutorials on line that I
viewed and it truly is not intuitive that one can not achieve the creation
of a KZM file without paying up. It created a lot of frustration. Having
recently purchased a GPSMAP 66i I am learning and some of that frustration
is born of learning a new device. And so I shall pay! I should have right
up front but somehow it did not appear as if that was required. Anyway, I
have wasted too much of your time and I do appreciate the response.
    Best regards
