Hi Chris,
Our program is entirely free to get started. Try it out and see if it works for your needs. I'm not sure what kind of trail riding you mean - could be mtn bike, horseback, atv, motor bike, etc. I can think of reasons any of those users would want to use the program, but in all the cases I would tell them to just try it out!

I have used the iOS app for SAR, while on a snowmobile, with a handlebar
mount for the iPhone.
