Document date a pdf/jpg is generated

It would be great to be able to add to the pdf/image (in small type) the date time a pdf or image file is generated. It would make it easy to spot which version of a map is being used. The Title field is too short to do it. I use CalTopo to generate and update maps for the website. It could be a date/time code to save space (yyyymmddhhmm). Over the next few years MSTA will be adding many miles of trail and being able to quickly see which version of the map is being used will be a big help.

    Hi John,

I assume you are adding other info to the title and that is why the field is too short?

It's really a pretty good idea, and I'll see what we can do. In the meantime, I don't know if it would help you to know that you can add custom images to the corners of the PDFs. Check out this page and scroll down to the section titled "QR Code and Custom Images."

I was aware of the custom images option. I think some of that is easier to add via Photoshop, but to be able to have it generated along with the map is best (I produced many versions of spreadsheets and tech docs during my carreer and I always tried to include an automatic date / time field: it sure made it easy to know if I was looking at current version. Thanks
