Sentinel Weekly Imagery Every 2.5 Days

Currently, historical Sentinel Weekly satellite imagery is available in 10 day increments (1st, 10th, and 20th of each month). Why not 5 days, or even 2.5 days? I.e. add imagery from the 5th, 15th, and 25th days of the month. Or ideally (at the cost of some confusion), the 2.5th, 5th, 7.5th, etc days. Much of the US gets new imagery every 2.5 days (due to scan overlapping; see link below). This change would give users access to practically all of the imagery, rather than a ~third of it. If every-2.5-days doesn't work for the entire history, how about every 2.5 days for the previous month or two? Before that, every 10 days should be sufficient for most uses.

My use case: I'm in the Pacific Northwest, and the weekly imagery is obscured by clouds most of the time. So I often have to switch to the Sentinel Hub Playground to find imagery which is less than a few weeks old (i.e. imagery which is relevant for accurately determining snow coverage). But then I lose all the benefits of CalTopo!

"Blue sky" suggestion: Ideally CalTopo would have the same calendar selection as is available on Sentinel Hub (displaying only the dates which have unique imagery), but that would need a dynamic selection box based on where the map is centered. So the every-2.5-day fixed-date selection would seem to be a good compromise.

Thanks for the great product!

    Michael -

This is the second time this has come up recently; fractional days would be awkward but you're right that 10 days is absolutely too long. We'll change it to a shorter interval.

Beyond the dynamic UI, date matching with Sentinel Hub would require pinging an API to determine availability, rather than just fetching the most recent imagery before a certain date. It's something I'd like to see to but I don't really think it's viable.
