Restore state of sartopo map properties after page reload

One sets up a map to use various layers, folder/object visibility, colors, map zoom level, etc. Then something causes the page to lock up necessitating a page reload. All of the properties changed from their defaults to create to useful visual environment are reset to their defaults upon having to reload the page. This can cause a fair amount of work to restore the view and is compounded by the stress of the current search requirements. Can a file be created on the local computer that stores the current state of the display properties for restore after a page is reloaded?

    Hi Steve,

Some of these things can be set, but not everything, and it take a little setup on the map. Folders and map layers can both be set to save their display setting on page reload. For folders, you can edit the folder (pencil icon next to the folder name) and use the checkbox to indicate whether that folder always loads on page load. For larger maps, I'll often set most of my folder too "off" for page load and turn them on as needed.

Layers are a bit more complicated. In the map info dialog (via the info icon on the left side of the map viewer), there's a checkbox to "always load with this set of layers". To change which layers it is set to, you have to uncheck the box, save, and then go back and re-check it and save again.

There is currently no way to set specific objects as on or off, other than at the folder level. I can certainly bring this up for discussion with the team, but if your connection is bad or your browser is running out of memory to cause the need for the page reload, then it still won't save the current settings because it hasn't caught up to that set of settings yet. Maybe we can debug the underlying need for the page reload so you won't need to have the display settings saved?
