I can no longer download KML points from a downloaded file on my phone. The upload button has changed and it won’t read any of my KML files anymore. This is going to get in the way of fieldwork all week. Attached is a screenshot of what I see and the file I am trying to upload

Restarted. No effect—same issue. Hobbling my work

I also deleted and re-downloaded the entire app, which did not help.
Files I am trying to upload are .gpx not KML.
And this is only my first month using the app, so if this issue is not resolved, I will need a refund.

The only thing that worked is if I saved the map from my laptop and created a share link. Let me know when you fix it -- this will work for now.

    Hi Shalyn,

Glad you found a workaround. This is a bug in the app that we missed during testing. Sorry about that. What app version are you using?

Unfortunately app bugs are not as immediate of a fix compared to web bugs since we have to go through the whole release process. So it will likely be a few weeks.

What program are you getting the KML files from? Would it be possible to use a GPx or GeoJSON in place of the KML for now?

    Thanks,
    Julie

    Hi Julie,

I did actually correct myself and I am using GPX. I download the point data from ATS. I uploaded the most current version of CalTopo that was just released. All my phones updates are up-to-date.

I will just have to do with the workaround for now. I download the points from ATS, send them to Gmail as Json after running them through an R code to get them to display the way I want in CalTopo, and then I upload the gpx file both from my phone and my computer.

I will watch out for the next update. Thanks

    Shalyn
