Transferring Map Data between CalTopo Online and CalTopo Offline

The Backup GPX files created by both CalTopo Online and CalTopo Offline are in the same format, so you can export from one and import to the other. For example, you can export a CalTopo Backup GPX file from CalTopo Offline and import that file into CalTopo Offline.

  1. Start with the source environment, click on "Export" on the top menu bar, and then either "Download CalTopo Backup" or "Download CalTopo Offline Backup".

The file name defaults to the map name. Change the file name and folder if desired. Note the location of the file and click "Save".
