Howdy, I know how to feed a marker location to the online maps.

I am working on a new project where I need to plot a marker and bearing line.
How would I feed that into SARTopo?

At some point I would like to add the marker and bearing on an offline map too, I am thinking that is going to be a different setup.

I'm not totally sure what you mean by "feed". If you are asking how to add a marker or bearing line at specific coordinates, you can learn more about that on our training site; I'd recommend checking out Working with Markers and Bearing Line. If you're asking about something different, please let me know. In either case, I'd recommend checking out our training site- a lot of answers can be found there!

You can also add objects (such as markers and bearing lines) to the map when you are offline. The objects will sync locally to your mobile device and then automatically sync to the server once a data connection is reestablished. The process of adding objects to the map on your mobile device is also covered in the Objects chapter of the training site.

I am talking about feeding markers to the online system with a program. I
have a program that feeds location data into our maps for SAR (think like
    an inreach tracking)

But they are markers only, I need to add a bearing or a line between two
    points via a program.

    Hi Phil,
I can give you a couple pointers here, but we don't provide support for custom solutions and don't provide a public API.
Adding objects to the map is an entirely different process than location tracking on the map. If you're sending locations to the location tracking endpoint, configuring and adding an object to the map is going to be significantly more complex. You can determine the other object types using a browser based developer toolkit. Its always easier to add objects against a local instance (desktop) versus posting them to the server since there are some signing requirements for objects posted directly to our server.

Unfortunately past those few tips we do not provide support or documentation for any API or custom solutions in the software, the links referenced above show how to do what you are trying to do directly in the SARTopo software.

    Best,
    Ben

I will look up the toolkits, but I would like a local option better for
now. You said that it is easier, can you point me in that direction?

I do appreciate the help, and know it is outside the scope of support. I
have been working on adding location markers to non-enterprise PLB users
that we in SAR can add to a map. I have the data pulling from the subject
PLB data (Spot and inReach (soon)) and feeding that to SARTopo with the
fleetID. (it is just a url that is used). I am now expanding that with
RDF bearing that can update the map at a click of a button. Again thank
    you for your help.

Locations to SARTopo are very different than adding a marker. Locations can just be sent to the REST API endpoint that you create in your locator group (under fleet). Of note we already have well documented support for inReach devices found here: https://training.caltopo.com/all_users/share/live-tracking#inreach other fleet devices can be set up to forward location updates to the same endpoint.

Adding objects such as markers, lines, polygons etc to the map requires pinging our internal API, you'll be able to determine all of that information using developer tools, but we don't offer a public documented API and the API is subject to breaking changes. We are unable to offer any further support for that use.

    Best,
    Ben

Great thank you for the direction to try.

Yea, the doc you have on the inReaches is great and set up on the
enterprise account. I made an interface for the spot users for now.
