Error when syncing desktop app to account

I just downloaded the SARtopo desktop app and am unable to sync my account per the instructions to download the map data. I get the error "status code 500" "unable to validate link code". One of the things I'm curious about is that I never get the page with the option to do the simple sync as stated in the instructions. From the sync to Sartopo option it goes directly to the window where I choose the computer name and click sync. Any ideas?

    Hi Nick,
Based on your description here, I'm unsure or unclear what is going on. I'd like to help debug this.
First, I don't see a desktop account under this e-mail address. What e-mail address and login are you using?
What operating system and browser are you using?
Can you describe the steps you take that gets you to this error? (From staring the desktop software to the error)
Do you have a consistent reliable internet connection? Any reasons to suspect your internet connection of any problems?

Let me know and we'll help you get up and running!

The account is [email blocked], and that is the login I use. I've tried
the steps I'll describe below on two separate (reliable) internet

    * First, using my online account, I went to the tab for the desktop version
and downloaded the file to my computer. I unzipped it to the program files
    folder on my laptop.
    * Next, I went to the Java website and downloaded the JDK version.
    * Once that was installed I started the desktop version of SARtopo
referencing the "localhost:8080" address and it seemed to (and still does)
work fine aside from the fact that I can't download tiles.
    * From the desktop version I went to Account and then clicked on sync
    SARtopo account.
    * That opened a screen that prompted me to login to my gmail account, and
after that I was directed to a screen that had a text box to id the computer
I was using and then check the checkbox that the localhost:8080 address was
    my offline instance.
    * After clicking the button to sync from that screen I got a status code 500
error and the message that the site is unable to validate the link code.
Any help or ideas woudl be great and much appreciated! Thanks,Nick

Perfect, one last question sorry I forgot to ask, what is the build number you have currently? Should show in the window on startup or when you download the file.
