I can't get the command prompt to stay open.

When I run 'SARTopo-Offline-Java-9-10.bat' or 'SARTopo-Offline.bat', I see a window quickly come up & disappear [i assume it's the CMD window]. Before you ask :) no, it's not hiding behind something or minimized. When I try going to "http://localhost:8080", it just says "This site can’t be reached - localhost refused to connect." What am I doing wrong?

I know someone was having this same problem not too long ago.

Can you manually open a cmd window, cd to the director SARTopo Offline is installed in, and run:

    java -Dsarsoft.properties=sar.properties -jar sar.jar

Unfortunately the cmd window started by the launcher closes on exit; doing the above will tell you what the actual error is.

I am having the same problem.
However, when i open a cmd window, cd to the directory SARTopo Offline is installed in, and run:

java -Dsarsoft.properties=sar.properties -jar sar.jar I get the error message:
"Run is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file"
    Any other suggestions?

I assume you mean "java is not recognized . . ." rather than run?

The latest version of Java has stopped installing itself on the Windows path - if you're unable to run Java from the command line, the cmd window will flash for a moment and then disappear.

Instructions will vary based on your version of Windows, but search the internet for "java 12 windows path".

I have attempted to set up the JAVA_HOME environment variable to point to the JDK installation directory without success. I may have misread the instructions as I am not an IT person.

The SARTopo-offline.bat file will not open either so at this point in time I am unable to proceed with the offline app installation.

It's not setting up JAVA_HOME but adding Java to the cmd path. What version of Windows are you running?

    Windows10 Home ver 1803 2018-06-11

We are also running Windows 10 at our SAR hall and are encountering the same problem.

    Thanks

Bear with me. If you open a cmd window and type the following:

    C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-12\bin\java -version

Does it give you a Java version #? If not, is there a similar directory name (either a different jdk version under the Java folder, or a Java folder under Program Files (x86)?)

I don't have access to Win10 so I can't vouch for these instructions, but can you add that folder (C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-12.0.1\bin) to the path as described at:

I have set up the JAVA_HOME environment variable to point to the JDK installation directory and I can now launch the SARTopo-offline app.
I have implemented the Offline sync to SARTopo and synced my personal maps.
I am unable to download any map data. When I activate localhost:8080/map.html my username appears instead of “offline user” however I cannot see where or how I can start mapping.
I have attached a screenshot of error messages that appear when I activate the SARTopo-offline app.
I would like to eliminate these error messages and start downloading map data for my area.

Please let me know the next steps.

I have updated the path as requested below.
Now I am attempting to download map data.
I have SARTopo Offline on my screen and I am synced to SARTopo.
I have clicked on my account name at the top left.
On My Account screen I do not have “Your Icons” or “Offline Access” tabs as shown on the Knowledge Base, Downloading Map Date instructions.
I assume I need “Offline Access” to download maps.
Am I not logged in correctly or do I not have rights to this feature? This is a team account.
Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

    thanks

The error messages in your screenshot are an internal Java issue that will be fixed in the next release, but which don't affect the app.

You are on a SAR Offline account so you should have access to the offline layer downloads. Can you send me a screenshot of the account dialog open on the "your account" tab? Using the credential ID listed there, I can verify exactly which account is synced.

Sorry this has been such a circus.

Screen print of my account tab attached. The URL https://sartopo.com/team/albernivallerescesquad does not work either.
