I have used Avenza a little bit in the hope that I could get sat pix on there. I can,I guess,If I were a bit more computer savvy but so far have been unable to. I had hoped I could maybe download chunks of G Earth.Doe Caltopo allow inclusion of sat pix and,if so, how easy is it to do?
Thx

    Hi Harold,
We offer Google Maps layers for the entire world, though they cannot be printed or exported they have to be used within the CalTopo site due to licensing. We have Sentinel imagery worldwide, and in the US we have the NAIP imagery which is in the app and online and can be printed as well.

I should clarify that I was looking at the capabilities of the app on my
I-phone. I am quite used to the on-line version of CalTopo where I can
switch views easily from the drop down menu on the RHS of my laptop. On my
phone, though, I cannot see where I can switch views or download Google
    map's sat view.
    thx

    Hi Harold,

In the app, click the upper right hand 3 bars and you can easily switch between layers, just like on desktop. The Google layers are not available on the app due to licensing issues, but we have other aerial imagery for the U.S. only, the NAIP layers. These are also available for offline use.

    Thank you,
    Rom

    Harold,
We have a developer working on international satellite coverage this week. I can't guarantee a time frame but we're within a month most likely for full coverage including much higher resolution (similar to Google Maps) and in the app.

    Best,
    Ben

It looks to me that I would need the paid version to download topo maps. I
would think of getting the paid version if sat pix become available.

    Harold,

Keep an eye out for that new layer when you're using CalTopo. We also normally post updates on our blog and Facebook page, though those have been suspended temporarily.

I can't very well keep my eye out as there is nothing there to see unless I
buy a subscription and I won't buy a subscription unless I can see sat pix

    Harold,

There are a host of layers you can currently use while online and off in Canada. As Ben said, there will likely be satellite images for you in about a month, so check back then.

    All the best,
    Rom

i used to be able to delete points. I think it was under the 'modify'
function, not the 'edit'. Has that capability been eliminated? thx

    Harold,

It is under edit, right click on any point, delete vertex.

    Thank you,

    Harold,

Are you implying that these instructions don't work for you? I'd like to help you with this, but need a bit more information from you. So we are on the same page, these instructions are for the browser based version on your computer. If you're trying to get this to work there and it isn't, could you please take us through your steps and let us know where it is failing? Screenshots are helpful as well.

If you are trying to modify the line on your phone, that is not currently an option.

    Thank you,
    Rom
