MapBuilder Line Colors

Hello,
I'm afraid this is a silly question, but I looked around for a while and couldn't find the answer. I'm trying to understand what the different dotted line colors (red, black) designate in MapBuilder. I can't seem to find documentation in general of what the different line styles designate - though some seem to follow broader convention - but if there is something specific for MapBuilder I'd be very interested in seeing it.
Thanks!

    Hi there,
CalTopo Doesn't have a specific key due to the fact that there are so many different layers. In the MapBuilder layer, red dotted lines represent trails, and solid black lines represent roads. If you look further along the lines, you can usually find the name of a trail. Additionally if you really can't figure it out try overlaying different layers such as google maps.
    Hope this helps,
    -Kobe
