How to turn off map (polys) before generating print?

I have a map of several polygons I'm using simply to highlight areas I want to include within my print extent. Once I set the print extent, I want to turn off the map and then generate the print (i.e. - I don't want the polys in the PDF). I can't seem to do this though. There is no way to turn off the map from within the print GUI and if I close the print GUI and go back to turn off the map then I lose my print and have to start over. Is there a way to do this that I'm missing?

There is no direct way to support that - for the most part, what you see on the map viewer when you click print is what you get in the PDF.

One workaround (requires you to be signed in) is to generate a PDF with the polygons, hide them on the map viewer, click print again, and then use the "load from" option on the left bar to load the page boundaries of the polygon-containing PDF you just created.

I tried the workaround, Matt. Works like a charm! I'll use it moving forward. Thanks!
