Breakdown a map into sections

Is it possible or would it be possible to have an option that allows you to select a range within a map and then boundaries drawn showing sub ranges within that initial range you selected?

I.E. I want to start analysis on a map but want to focus on 50 square acre boxes at a time. I would select a larger range and then have an option to break that down into 50 acre sub ranges and it would provide rectangular boundaries drawn on the map?

Sounds like you want to auto-generate a rectangular grid. Not at the moment, and no plans either. I think I get what you're trying to do, but it might help if you could go into the why as well.

    Hey Matt,

    Sorry just saw this email.

The 'why' is because I would like a way to essentially highlight sections of a piece of land that I want to investigate on foot but would like to simplify that by reviewing them a piece at a time. My use case is as follows

    - Highlight a piece of land that I want to study
    - Have caltopo allow me to specify in how many square acre parcels that I would like to break it down in
    - Cal topo does the breakdown
    - I then choose a parcel I would like to study first, mark my trails/waypoints etc.
    - I can then export all this info to my GPS and go out on foot and investigate.

A simpler implementation which I would be happy with is to just modify your range ring feature to allow for a square and a user can choose between miles/acres etc...

Or modify your measure - area feature so that  you can click and drag and the area box is complete instead of having to manually add the 4 lines to calculate the area.  With this implementation it would be nice to have a little dialog that shows you your acreage as the box gets bigger or smaller.

Nice to haves and I understand if you have bigger priorities to attend too, but appreciate the follow up
