Good morning,

Does CalTopo have a feature to see what a location looked like in the past. For instance, I would like to see aerial imagery of a location to look at damage as a result of a past hurricane.

Thank you.

    Hi Stephen,

Depending on exactly what you are looking for we might have a couple options for you.

The option that will have the most choices for imagery dates is Sentinel satellite. This is a 10m resolution imagery layer, so you could maybe see if a large house is there or not, but not a whole lot more detail than that. However, the images update every 5 days and you can view the history of them in the map viewer. Sentinel requires a Pro subscription to access. You can web search the Sentinel Hub and view images there to see the resolution.

The extremely high res imagery layers are Global Imagery and NAIP. These are much clearer than Sentinel, but only have two dates in time. The most recent imagery there would be from several years ago, on Global Imagery. I believe those are from 2017-2019. NAIP is slightly older, from 2013-2015. Both of these layers are available free to all users.
