Enable Dark Layers
With CalTopo app version 0.7.2, there is a new Enable Dark Layers option under Display Options. Anyone know what a dark layer is?

Hi Sam,
CalTopo normally displays map objects against a light screen- this is often referred to as 'light mode' for user interfaces. When you select Enable Dark Layers in the Display Options menu, CalTopo will display map objects against a dark screen. The idea behind this is to reduce the light emitted by the device screen while maintaining enough color contrast for readability.
Just FYI: in all recent versions of iOS, the app will follow the system dark mode setting. Often this is set to automatically enable dark mode at sunset and light mode at sunrise, but you can override this in the system settings under ‘Display & Brightness’.
