another suggestion for Travel Plan - include waypoint comments as notes
Travel Plan is a fantastic addition, folks. However, the Notes column appears blank and is crying out to simply pull from the existing Comment field text within the individual waypoints along the track. This would greatly enhance the utility of Travel Plan and make it function even more like the familiar "data book" format that long-distance hikers routinely employ as a guidebook-in-miniature.

Hi Brett,
Thanks for the feedback! The ability to populate the Notes column on Travel Plan is actually a feature we plan to support. We will dig into more what might be going on- this is a pretty new feature so we really appreciate that you took the time to provide feedback.
Thank you,
Meghan

Great to hear! And as long as the Travel Plan feature is still in refinement, one other thing that leaps out is to include a way of capturing waypoints located *near* but not directly along the track. For example, a water source with specific coordinates a ways off the main trail. Currently it appears the threshold for capturing a waypoint in Travel Plan is around 150 feet off the track. Perhaps offer a way to manually adjust this threshold and to indicate the actual distance (and direction) off-track within the plan. Water source 0.2 of a mile off-route? Let's know about it in the plan without having to create a separate track leading there.

Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback! We are working hard to ensure CalTopo continues to improve and that work is often thanks to users sharing their thoughts and feedback. We'll consider these requests going forward. We often take a variety of user requests and incorporate them into a larger function, so stay tuned as we release new features throughout the year!
