Hiding Map Objects

Not sure if this would fall under general search talk, feature/suggestions or what.

Is there a way to prevent people from seeing certain objects in a shared map? For example, we have provided a QR code for Update access to field teams so that they can record their tracks in the Mobile App to the search map. However, there may be information on the search map that we don't want to share with field teams or convergent volunteers. For example, a possible abduction search, we recorded "friends houses" of the missing subject and we wouldn't want everyone not in LE or search management to see those locations. The thought is we have an "ops map" for live tracking and then export tracks periodically to the planning map. Keeping the two maps in sync would be a manual process and subject to error.

    Hi,

Thanks for contacting us with your suggestion. We will certainly consider it. Currently there is no way to do this.

The work flow that you are using now is the way we suggest. Basically, you keep a master map that few people have access to, and then you create an Ops map for each OP that is for sharing with field teams so they can record tracks to it. At the end of the OP, a team can clean up the tracks and clues and move data to the master map. You can also produce map copies that are strictly for the public or media.

We are working on some better map storage management features also.

    Thanks,
    Julie
