So, I have been attempting to use APRS tracking with no luck. I am confident that I am not doing something correctly. I have logged into aprs.fi on my android phone and see my self on there and other stations as well. How do I view this on caltopo? Is this possible on the free version? I am trying to learn how to do this so we as a USAR/OSAR team can utilize this awesome tool. Thanks for the help and please forgive my ignorance, I am a ham, but not a great one..... :)

This will walk you through a lot of it. Make sure after adding the object to CalTopo that there is an updated tracking point. CalTopo will not pull in old data from the station.

    Ben,
Thank you for a quick response. I have read through the instructions you
sent me, even before I started a discussion. But, I am still unable to see
my location on CALTOPO via tracking on aprs.fi. Is this for the
    offline/desktop version only?

No it should work totally fine online. Can you send me a screen shot of your APRS locator group config screen and your HAM call sign? I can try to help take a look at it!

    Also,
I am using aprs.fi on my phone. I have started tracking on the site. I am
not using an radio for APRS right now. I just assumed that it would load
the data from my phone. Is this wrong and do I need to utilize a radio to
    accomplish this?

I actually have no idea, we’ve never played with that. You’re creating an extra step though, if you’re just using your phone since CalTopo can do tracking of phones with service (if you record a track it is written live to the map and shared with anyone else looking at that map)

Ok, cool. Now, how do I do that? Do you have a link for those instructions?

    Chris,

Search CalTopo in either the app store or play store, depending on your OS. Once you have the app downloaded, make sure to sign in via the same method you've been signing into the web browser version with and your data will automatically sync. Instructions for the app are here: https://help.caltopo.com/kb/mobile-apps You track via the menu options in the lower right corner.

    All the best,
    Rom

Awesome! This will help until I can get my aprs radio up and running.
    Thanks for the help.
