Alternate zoom speed control

I use both CalTopo and Google Earth quite a lot. IMO, GE has a very handy zoom control feature. On a Mac desktop you can hold the OPTION key down while zooming, e.g., by scrolling my mouse, and the zoom speed is cut in half I think or maybe more (probably something similar exists for Windows platforms). I find this feature really useful because in other mapping applications including CalTopo I think it's too easy to go screaming towards center Earth or off into outer space using the default zoom speed.

Could this feature be added to CalTopo? I think it would be pretty easy to implement by just checking for an OPTION key event as well as the mouse scroll event.

This isn't on our radar right now. I'll add it to our list of potential future developments but our focused is on polishing and finishing up the app at this point .
