Elevation Layer/Filter (see map only above a certain elevation)

Many skiers and outdoor enthusiasts in the pacific northwest use caltopo for route planning. (If this isn't already possible) It would be nice to cut the map with a plane to coordinate snow level forecasts since it is a topologically intense area (lots of ups and downs). For example, I enter 4000' and everything below 4000' in the window has a gray transparent layer (yet still interactive) while everything above 4000' remains clear. Using this I could identify spots that would have fresh snow according to snow level forecast.

    Hi Ryan,
Sounds like you are looking for a DEM shading layer - this already exists and is live! Head to add layer and select DEM shading. You can then enter parameters such as 0 to 4000 feet, select red as your color for both, add the rule, and tada you have a red transparency over the map for any elevations between 0 and 4000 feet. (Example: https://caltopo.com/l/812L). If you want to really harness some cool tricks here you can add a rule for a blue layer for slope angles from 30-45 degrees in addition to really dive into terrain analysis and planning. Best part - this works on mobile too! Happy skiing.

    Best,
    Ben
