Printing without the footer?

Is there a way to disable the entire footer, and just get a pdf completely full of map goodness (optionally with grids)?

We would like to print and laminate some 4x6 quick map cards for our hasty and nordic teams; at that size, the generated footer in the pdf (or jpg) takes up a lot of real estate and is not really needed for our use case.

One workaround that I'll plan to use is printing on a page size that is larger in one dimension, then just lopping off the footer in post-editing in GIMP or such. That is completely workable - I was just wondering if a checkbox for "show footer" (default on) might be a possibility some time in the future.

Thanks

It's on the future to-do list (although probably in the form a of a minimalist transparent-background footer shown on top of the map, rather than removing it entirely), but yeah, at the moment, printing a larger map and then cropping is the best way I can think of.
