Can I copy and reverse a line?

For a straight out-and-back hike, it's sometimes useful to see stats for the hike as a whole, ascent and decent (in the case of a mountain) together. There may be a way to do this, but I'm not sure what it is. I can reverse the direction of a line, but not while retaining the original direction also. If I could copy a line and then reverse one of the two copies, and then join them, that would be what I need. Thanks for any help! This is a fabulous program -- thank you!

Right click on the line and look for the modify menu. It has a few more options than the popup dialog. Clone as to create a second line, then reverse, then join with. I can't make any guarantees about which ends the join function will merge; you might need to chop a waypoint off the end of the reversed line so that the the ends at your destination appear closer together than the ends at your beginning.

Also, the original line needs to have a name in order for it to show up in the "join with" dialog.

OK - that’s just what I’m looking for. But when I right click on the line and click on “Modify,”, 6 choices come up: Resample, Extend, Reverse order, Split Here, and Join with. I don’t see how to get to any other choices. If it matters, I’m using a Macbook Pro.

    Many thanks.

Sorry, I have my terminology a little wrong. I should have said Convert -> Copy As instead of Modify -> Clone As.

Got it — thanks, Matt. It worked easily. I’ll have to do a little fine tuning to get the correct ends to match up, but I don’ think that’ll be problem.

Thanks again — this is a great tool for so many uses!
