App tracks automatically convert to Lines?

After a few of our recent SAR calls I noticed that some (possibly all) for the App Tracks, that is the tracks created by team members using their phones, seem to later create a duplicate Line on the map. The App Track is still there, but now there are Lines there identical. Is that supposed to happen? If so, is there a reason for that?

    There should not still be an app track. When you finalize a track you're recording it should finish the recording and save as a line object.

    OK, I see that on some maps but not on others. For example
    https://sartopo.com/m/3DH5 has some App Tracks that were converted to Lines
    and closed and still shows some App Tracks and their corresponding Lines.

    So if the app track isn't finished by the team recording it, it will not convert to line. When it is recording in the app, and you have service you can see position of that team in realtime which is why it remains a track. Once finished, there is not a team moving anymore so you can see profile, all the other features of the line.

    Now that said we did find a glitch that if you double tapped the record button you could accidentally generate two app tracks for one device, which would make it impossible pretty much to finish the second track. That problem is fixed in the next release, and may or may not have played a part in the behaviour you're seeing here.

    OK, I think that explains it. I was also puzzled by the double tracks
    which I had seen several times, so that explains that as well.

    The app has really been helpful on our SAR calls in Santa Barbara.
